Rolex Submariner Date 40, reference 16800, dating to 1985 and featuring the classic stainless-steel construction and black dial and bezel associated with the vintage Submariner.
The reference 16800 represents an important generation in the evolution of the Submariner Date, introducing significant updates over earlier references while retaining the proportions and character associated with vintage Rolex sports watches.
Powered by Rolex’s automatic calibre 3035, the Submariner Date features a date display beneath the Cyclops lens. The reference 16800 also introduced a sapphire crystal and increased 300-metre water-resistance rating to the Submariner Date line.
