Rolex Submariner Date 40, reference 16610LV, commonly known as the “Kermit”, featuring a black dial, green aluminium bezel and classic 40mm Oystersteel case with Oyster bracelet.
Originally introduced in 2003 to mark the 50th anniversary of the Rolex Submariner, the 16610LV became the first production Submariner to feature the now-iconic green bezel. This 2007 example combines that distinctive bezel with a black dial and the larger “Maxi” hour markers associated with the reference.
Powered by Rolex’s automatic calibre 3135, the Submariner Date 16610LV features a date display beneath the signature Cyclops lens and offers water resistance to 300 metres. Its combination of five-digit Submariner proportions and anniversary styling has made the Kermit a particularly recognised configuration among collectors.
