Developed for professional deep-sea diving, the Sea-Dweller first appeared during the 1960s. Compared with many conventional diving watches, it was built for more demanding underwater environments.

One of its defining features is the helium escape valve, which was developed for saturation diving. In addition, the watch combines a rotating dive bezel with a highly legible display and robust Oyster case.

Several generations have appeared throughout its history. Meanwhile, the wider family also includes the larger Rolex Deepsea. Buyers can therefore explore both contemporary models and discontinued references.
